Guest List and Invitations

Guest List and Timing of the Invitations Once you have decided on the date and location of the Bar-Mitzvah, you can proceed to making a guest list, and then to consideration of how you would like to invite your guests. The timing is important here. If you would like to have invitations printed, be sure to allot time for them to be printed. Another aspect to consider is when to send out the invitations. If you send out the invitations too early they may end up in a drawer and be forgotten. On the other hand, it is important to give people enough advance notice of the date. Generally, an invitation that is received about three to four weeks in advance of the date provides adequate time for the guests to save that date and to respond on time. It is important to keep in mind that invitations for people living out of the country must be sent first, preferably at five to six weeks prior to the Bar-Mitzvah date.
